DONATE
Mirkwood as funded from Andys ever dwindling pension pot which is on its last legs. . A few people have set up regular payments, about £50 per month. We usually do an appeal to cover shearing in May, about £800.
Typical outgoings are: a box of arthritis medicine a month at £130. 48 bags of sheep nuts a month at £10 each. 5 large bales of hay per month at £45 each. Each sheep that passes away costs £30 to send away (not allowed to bury them), various vet visits as and when necessary. Heptavac injections in spring £90, Footvax vaccine in Autumn £140.
People can donate things such as salt licks, foot spray, carrots, cabbage, biscuits the last three Andy currently buys out of his own pocket.
Our biggest fundraiser of the year is the annual ‘Sheepy Shuffle’ a virtual half marathon which you can read all about on a separate page here. Otherwise we are funded by small donations and my (Andys) salary. We are currently in the process of being registered as a not for profit company. And we are also in the process of setting up an Amazon wishlist…..and also a list of favoured suppliers that you can purchase from……
Until we find the time to get those set up we very much welcome any monetary donations…100% goes towards the sheep and their upkeep.
